An agreement between the City of Toronto and Local Motors by LM Industries will introduce a self-driving shuttle trial connecting Scarborough’s West Rouge neighbourhood with Rouge Hill GO station in Spring of 2021. Expected to run for six-to-12-months, the automated shuttle service trial is one of five deliverable measures identified in the Automated Vehicles Tactical Plan approved by city council in October 2019 to ensure Toronto is “AV Ready” in 2022 [See NRU October 18, 2019 Toronto edition].
