Public art can help drive the City of Toronto’s economic and social recovery from the COVID-19 public health crisis, according to some of the city’s leading arts institutions – and Toronto’s robust development community can play a critical role in helping the local arts community reanimate public space and set the stage for the city’s recovery, a task many developers have already taken on.
“I think we’re about to see a really expanded role for artwork in development,” Assaf Weisz, chief strategy officer with Artscape, told NRU.
