The proposed adaptive reuse of a vacant city-owned heritage property near Fort York would establish a new community hub and commercial centre to support existing and future residential uses in Toronto’s growing Niagara neighbourhood.

At its October 20 meeting, the city’s general government and Proposed Centre for Downtown East Lansdowne LTC and Housing Proposal licensing committee adopted
a report from CreateTO staff seeking city council approval of a long-term lease arrangement between the city and real estate development company TAS for the city owned Wellington Destructor property at 677 Wellington Street West.
