ENVISIONING TRANSIT-ORIENTED COMMUNITIES

The Province of Ontario announced plans June 15 to develop transit-oriented communities at the Exhibition, King-Bathurst, and Queen-Spadina stations along the future 15-stop, 16-kilometre-long Ontario Line subway project. While few details about its plans for the three new communities have been released, early discussions with the city and the communities to be affected will likely pertain to the scale of intensification being sought by the province and identifying opportunities for the city to secure affordable housing and public realm upgrades.
