According to a report released this week by the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD), the City of Toronto’s proposed inclusionary zoning framework is fundamentally flawed, fails to reflect North American best practices, and will lead to decreased new housing supply and increased costs to purchasers. But city staff contend that residential development under the inclusionary zoning framework the city is proposing will continue to be viable, and note that the city is continuing to work with the development industry to arrive at a sustainable inclusionary zoning policy.
