DESIGNING RETAIL

A new set of design guidelines for Toronto’s retail streets is intended to improve the layout and design of retail spaces in new buildings and to better suit the needs of future tenants.

At its meeting October 20, the City of Toronto planning and housing committee will consider planning staff’s proposed Retail Design Manual, which lays out elements to consider in trying to find the best ways to design ground-floor retail spaces in new mixed-use buildings.
