A proposal to redevelop a heritage building into a large, mixed-use tower development would continue the intensification of the east side of downtown Toronto, meeting growth goals for the area, but some elements of the proposal could face a challenge in gaining approvals by city planning staff.

Menfor Dundas Developments (Menkes Developments) is proposing a 46-storey mixed-use building with a two to 13-storey base building at 212-218 Dundas Street East and 279½ George Street.
