The City of Pickering is close to finalizing its planning framework for a large vacant area in the city’s northeast that runs along the Pickering-Whitby border. Once finalized, the framework will set the planning vision for the roughly 1,600-hectare area and guide its transformation into a complete community supported by higher-order transit and accommodating a range of housing types and land uses.
