A demonstration plan for a high-density mixed-use development proposed in the council-approved Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) would transform a low-rise employment area by bringing in 12 new mixed-use towers containing residential, employment, and retail uses, along with a new urban school. However, pending the Province’s approval of Vaughan city council’s VMC expansion proposal, technically, the development site is deemed to lie just outside of the VMC.
