The Town of Ajax is formally objecting to the proposed use of a Minister’s Zoning Order (MZO) requested by the City of Pickering earlier this year to accelerate and expand the Durham Live development. At a special meeting held on October 22, Ajax town council unanimously voted to endorse a motion requesting Municipal Affairs and Housing minister Steve Clark reject an MZO request for the project, following the City of Pickering’s “purposeful action to eliminate the Town [of Ajax] as a party to the development agreement for the MZO.”
