New planning policies in Bowmanville are intended to protect the character of mature neighbourhoods while allowing for moderate development to take place.
At its meeting May 25, Town of Clarington council adopted an official plan amendment and new zoning by-law which restricts the size, scale, and type of development allowed in three established neighbourhoods in Bowmanville: Elgin, Central, and Memorial. The three neighbourhoods are generally bound by Liberty Street North, Baseline Road, Fourth Street, and Bowmanville Creek.
