The Ontario government is moving ahead with plans to identify land to protect for a future electricity corridor to support growth in the northwest reaches of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
With significant population growth projected for Halton, Peel, and York regions in the coming decades, Queen’s Park and the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), a crown corporation that oversees Ontario’s electricity market, have identified a need for greater future energy capacity in each region.
