A 21-hectare dormant brownfield property that has drawn the ire of St. Catharines residents for years has been redesignated from employment to mixed-use, opening the door to potential redevelopment.

St. Catharines city council voted on November 30 to approve amendments to the city’s official plan, which included redesignation of the industrial site at 282-285 Ontario Street.
