While City of Markham planning staff work on development concepts that will shape an update to the Markham Centre Secondary Plan, a development application submitted to the city in June proposes a high-density, multi-tower residential community that, if approved, could set the tone for the future of the neighbourhood.

Official Plan and zoning by-law amendment applications submitted by Metropia outline plans for a 1,350-unit residential development on the north side of Enterprise Boulevard, immediately east of the Metrolinx-GO Stouffville rail corridor.
