In the second of a four-part series on planning and development in each of the city’s community planning districts, NRU sat down with Etobicoke York District staff for a wide-ranging conversation about active projects and initiatives in the district.

Designed as a modern, post-war suburb of Toronto, Etobicoke York District is a community in transition to more tower neighbourhoods, increasing amounts of low-rise infill development and greater employment opportunities. But with that overhaul comes concerns about transportation and guidelines for new development, as well as how to redefine the character of these historic neighbourhoods.
