Architect James Cheng’s scheme for a landmark tower at the western “gateway” to downtown near Coal Harbour gets an initial review this week by city council.

City planning staff are sounding out council on Cheng’s rezoning inquiry proposing a 515-foot residential building at 1445-1455 West Georgia, a site they say is appropriate for a taller landmark building.
